At the Diaspora Women Arise, we understand that the integration process for immigrant children and youth is often overlooked. The challenges they face—ranging from adjusting to a new education system to balancing cultural identity—can be overwhelming. That’s why we’ve created the Culturally Sensitive Integration Camps, a program designed to help African immigrant children and youth (ages 6-18) integrate into U.S. society while maintaining their cultural pride and identity.
This program is available both online and in-person to ensure accessibility to all our clients across the country. We aim to provide a safe, nurturing space where children and youth can thrive socially, academically, and emotionally.
By participating in the Culturally Sensitive Integration Camps, African immigrant youth will be better prepared to thrive in their new home country—academically, socially, and emotionally—while staying connected to their cultural roots.
Workshops teaching digital safety, healthy internet habits, and how to navigate the world of unlimited online access, including how to deal with cyberbullying, online predators, and inappropriate content.
Specialized workshops for parents on understanding the U.S. education system, effective parenting strategies, and how to support children’s mental and emotional health while balancing work and family life.
